PK is a 2014 Indian comedy-drama film directed by Rajkumar Hirani, produced by Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Siddharth Roy Kapur, and written by Hirani and Abhijat Joshi. The film stars Aamir Khan in the title role, with Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani, Saurabh Shukla, and Sanjay Dutt in supporting roles.
PK released on 19 December 2014. Within two weeks of its release, the film has emerged as the highest-grossing film of all time in India.
It tells the story of an alien who comes to Earth on a research mission and befriends a television journalist.The PK moves from Rajasthan to Delhi in search of his stolen remote. Due to his strange behavior, the people in the city assume he is tipsy (tipsy translates to pee-kay in Hindi) and call him PK.
The film ends with PK returning to Earth a year later on a new research mission with another alien (Ranbir Kapoor).
